  3. Click the Translation button to switch to Translation mode.

If the transcript has no translation, the "There are no translations yet" message is shown.

Only for users of a group that has the entitlement Avid AI Translate RW Access assigned, additionally "You can generate a translation for the selected transcription" and a Translate button are shown.

The translation selection in the Transcript tab toolbar is empty.

  4. Click the Translate button.

The Translate dialog box opens. For a master clip, the following is shown:

For a sublip, the following is shown:

  5. Do not change the transcript that is already selected in the Transcript list.

  6. Select the language of the translation from the Target Language list.

The list shows the localized labels of all supported languages. If your administrator has defined a default translation language in the Avid AI admin app, the language is preselected in the Target Language list; if no default translation language has been defined, the top-most language in the list is preselected.

  7. Click the Translate button.

The dialog box is closed and the translation creation job is triggered. The Transcript tab shows a "Translation in progress" message.

If the translation creation cannot be triggered, a "Failed to create translation" error message is shown and the Translate dialog box is not closed. Click Cancel to close the dialog box.

  8. (optional) Open the Process app and monitor the translation creation job. See Monitoring Transcribe and Translate Jobs in the Process App.

  9. Wait until the translation is shown.

    • Once the translate job has completed, the Translate view display auto-refreshes and all translated segments are automatically shown.

    • If the translate job fails before completion, the Translation in progress message will be replaced by the Translation failed message.
